Lady Gaga's Old NYC Apartment Up for Rent for $1,850 a Month

New York realtor Citi Habitats has listed Lady Gaga's former Lower East Side one-bedroom apartment, touting it as the place where Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta got her start in the NYC music scene.

Available to rent for $1,850 per month, Gaga's former pad -- located at 176 Stanton Street -- is just steps away from some of the city's hottest nightclubs and bars.

Growing up in the neighborhood near NYC's Lincoln Center, Gaga credits the Lower East Side with helping her come out of her shell.

"It was like I had to go lick the ground [on the LES] for a few years to understand New York City and a whole different side of the pavement," the singer -- who paid $1,100 per month for the unit, with an assist from her father -- told MTV.

"I wanted to live alone -- live in solitude with my music," Gaga said of her time in the neighborhood. "I wanted to read poetry and be overly dramatic about everything and that's what I did."
