Lady Gaga Launches the Born This Way Foundation
Lady Gaga is adding yet another role to her rsum : philanthropist.
The 25-year-old singer announced Wednesday that she is launching the Born This Way Foundation with her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, MTV News reports.
The foundation, which takes its name from Gaga's hit single and album, aims to further inspire young people. "My mother and I have initiated a passion project," Gaga said. "Together we hope to establish a standard of bravery and kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment."
Focusing on "youth empowerment and equality...through mentoring and career development," the foundation will partner with the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
