Just down the road from actress Meg Ryan's oceanfront spread, Gaga's reported Vineyard address would make the pop star the seasonal neighbor of countlesscelebrities and Americanbu! siness l eaders, not to mentionthe 44th President of the United States. Since his ascension to office, Barack Obama has made time each summer to vacation with his family on Martha's Vineyard. This pastAugust, the Presidentreturned to the luxurious Blue Herron Farm in Chilmark, renting the compound for a cool $50,000 a week. Set atopa steep bluff, Gaga's reported parcel at 21 North Neck Roadboastscommanding views of Edgartown Harbor and offers a high levelof privacy; Chappaquiddick is only accessible by way of aferry from town. Consideringthis rare combination of social exclusivity, natural beautyand geographic isolation, the locationseems ideal for a celebrity of Gaga's status. And as a modern-styled mansion steadily rose on the siteover the courseof thesummer, the property appeared to have LadyGaga written all over it. The onlyproblem isGaga doesn't own the place. After attaining the property's address, a review of Edgartown property records revealed that a Mr. Nicholas Burgin, not Stefani Germanotta, is the legal owner of the property, having purchased it for $4.08 million from Martin L. and Donna Ritter on July 15, 2009. The construction on the site may be explained by a notice of public hearing scheduled for June 15, 2010, which details a special permit sought by Mr. Burgin and the architectural firm Peter Rose & Partners for the construction of a boathouse, boardwalk and beach stairs. Gagafans across New Englandwill be disappointed to learn that Mr. Burgin is not Gaga's manager, b! usiness partner, or relative. Rather, Burgin is a Goldman Sachs lifer, promoted to Partner in 2006 after ten years with the firm. The rumor that LadyGaga has her eye on Martha's Vineyard, in the words of the singer's representation, simply "isn't true." While we won't begetting a reality show featuring Germanottagallivanting aroundthe preppy enclave in a raw meat bikini any time soon, you can check outthe view fromLady Gaga's would-beMartha's Vineyard home below.
