Lady Gaga sets up new charity

Iconic Superstar Lady Gaga has set up a charitable organisation to empower young people.

The Born This Way Foundation, which Gaga has founded with her mother Cynthia Germanotta, will be launched next year. The organisation aims to abolish intolerance of difference, embrace humanity and contribute to "a brave new world."

Lady GaGa said of the Foundation: "My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation.

"Together we hope to establish a standard of bravery an! d kindne ss, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment."

A statement on the charity's Facebook page reads: "The non-profit charitable organisation will lead youth into a braver new society where each individual is accepted and loved as the person they were born to be.

"BTWF will focus on youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, wellbeing, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change."
