The singer, who recently finished her UK dates of the tour, was performing in Amsterdam, where smoking marijuana has effectively been decriminalised.

Not holding back, she told the audience she was in the appropriate place to discuss her passion for the drug.

She added: I want you to know it has totally changed my life and Ive really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music.

Throughout the show she joked she was going to talk to President Barack Obama in a bid to make marijuana legal worldwide.

Adding that the drugs leaf symbol is the new peace sign. She added: Its like saying everybody needs to take a breath and its going to be OK.
