Lady Gaga Blames Her Recent Weight Gain on Her Dad

(PacificCoastNews)For someone who's admitted to having weight issues in the past, Lady Gaga handles questions about her body really, really well. The pop star spoke to popular radio host Elvis Duran about the unflattering photos from one of her European concerts that hit the web this week, explaining that she'd gained about 25 lbs but joked that it was all her dad's fault.

"I love eating pasta and pizza," Gaga noted. "I'm a New York Italian girl. That's why I have been staying out of New York. My father opened a restaurant. It's so amazing . . . it's so freaking delicious, but I'm telling you I gain five pounds every time I go in there. So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I'm, like, I've got to go where I can drink green juice."

The restaurant Gaga speaks of, Joanne Trattoria, has a 2.5-star rating on Yelp. Cheers to Gaga for turning an embarrassing and unnecessary tabloid story into great PR for the family business.

Gaga seems to have a good perspective on the whole thing it would be troubling to hear her freak out over something that really shouldn't matter, especially when one considers how many young people hang on her every word.

"[I] really don't feel bad about it, not even for a second," Gaga told Duran. "I have to be on such a strict diet constantly. It's hard because it's a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don't like that. So I'm trying to find a new balance."
