"The newest thing that I do, I don't read a damn thing. No press, no television, no, if my mom calls and says, 'did you hear about?' I don't want to know nothing about anything that is going on in relation to music... Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time." Gaga told the media mogul during the interview.
It's likely that Lady Gaga fans will still ! hear fro m the singer on her Twitter account, where she has 20 million followers and remains the most popular person on the micro-blogging social network.
Lady Gaga's interview with Winfrey was filmed mostly at her childhood home in New York City and is slated to air on "Oprah's Next Chapter" on Sunday, March 18 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN. Part of the special was also filmed at Harvard University during last month's launch of the Born This Way Foundation, which was endorsed by the talk show host.
The foundation, which is named after both her second album and debut single off the record, is a nonprofit and deal with "issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development." Gaga is outspoken about issues such as gay rights and teenage bullying and is known for expressing herself through outrageous fashion choices and her music.
The 25-year-old singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, will also be joined on the talk show by her mother Cynthia Germanotta, who admitted that she and Gaga's father worried about their daughter's mental health after watching a performance.
"When Gaga started emerging, when she was performing - I think it was at Joe's Pub downtown - and she was in her bikini performing Lady Starlight and decided that night to ... actually light hairspray on fire," Cynthia Germanotta told Winfrey. "And some people left when that happened ... a lot of people stayed and thought it was cool. But her father and I were like, honestly, he said, 'I think she has a screw loose.'"
Gaga also opened up about her desire to start a family. Gaga, who is dating "Vampire Diaries" actor Taylor Kinney told Winfrey that she wants multiple kids.
"Yes, I want kids, I want a soccer team and I want a husband," Gaga said. "Yeah, I do. Well, you know, I'm being superfluous [about the soccer team], but I don't want to have one kid. I want to have a few."
Winfrey also asked Lady Gaga if her infamous meat dress smelled by the end of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, the singer said, "Oh yes, but I kind of liked it. You know why? I don't like talking to celebrities, so I figured if it stinks, they won't come close."
