BUFFALO, NY - A Buffalo high school senior got a chance to meet Lady Gaga and the launch of the Born This Way Foundation held at Harvard.

Vance Stinson, a da Vinci High School senior in Buffalo was selected to attend a workshop series and meet Lady Gaga at Harvard University earlier this week.

Stinson, 17, is president of the Gay/Straight Student Alliance at da Vinci. The Foundation is about youth empowerment. "Be brave, be who you are, don't be afraid of what is going to happen to you, don't be afraid to just step out of the box and be yourself," said Stinson.

Hewas very touched and pushed forward to make a difference in his school, especially after the death of local teen Jamey Rodemeyer.

"When this happened I really wanted to make a difference. This is the reason why I wrote to Oprah because I wanted to make the GSA bigger and better. It blows my mind that someone so close to us, you would never think anyone would want to commit suicide, but someone so close to us just a suburb over wasn't feeling accepted and had to take his own life," said Stinson.
