Rock chick Lady Gaga is going Def

She became hooked on the Sheffield rock band after her dad Joe blasted their vinyl to the family in New Jersey.

Gaga said: "With my music there's lots of really big Def Leppard-style melodies in the choruses but it's electronic dance music. I'd call it avant-garde techno rock. It is very hard and very edgy.

"There are a lot of rock influences on the album but not that it is rock music.

"It is an exploration of electronic music and techno songs but I have created a genre of metal/dance/techno/rock/pop music with a lot of anthemic choruses, because that is actually the music I love."

Gaga is so impressed with the group she even brought their producer Mutt Lance onside.

They worked together on her track You And I and so she is keen to build on it.

Gaga loves a wrinkly rocker. As well as being godmother to Elton John and David Furnish's son Zachary, she's best pals with Alice Cooper and even posed naked recently for veteran crooner Tony Bennett.

She has also declared her love for The Boss and said: "I'm obsessed with Bruce Springsteen.

"My father used to play his records for me all the time when I was a kid."

Joe sounds like he'd be good to have around at a party.

Especially if she inherits her moves from him too.
