Rihanna overtakes Lady GaGa to become YouTube's most-viewed female act

Rihanna has beaten Lady GaGa to become the most-viewed female artist on YouTube.

The singer passed the 2 billion views milestone over the weekend after her international hit 'We Found Love' passed 115 million views.

Despite Lady GaGa becoming the first musician to hit 1 billion views on the site, the star's latest music videos have failed to match the successes of her previous hits, reports Billboard.

Recent cuts 'You And I' and 'Marry The Night' have gained 49m and 31m views respectively, but failed to reach the popularity of 'Bad Romance', which currently has over 443m views.

However, both stars trail Justin Bieber who is currently YouTube's most popular artist with his music videos tallying up over 2.2 billion views.
