Lady Gaga Tweets About Her Hermes Fur Coat, Fans and PETA Outraged (Poll)
Lady Gaga is known for making controversial fashion statements (the raw meat dress springs immediately to mind). But now shes gotten PETA and millions of her fans all riled up by wearing fur coats.
The 26-year-old singer was recentlyphotographed wearing a grey fur coat as she left a hotel in Europe, ironically carrying a sweet little furry puppy. She accessorized the grey fur coat with a pinstriped dress slit up to her hips, patent leather heels and dark shades.

The singer was recently slammed by PETA for wearing what appeared to be a pink mink fur coat after a trip to the Armani New York boutique.
Thumbing her nose at critics and PETA,Gaga tweeted the designer name of her latest fur coat: "For those press and such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually r! eal, ple ase don't forget to credit the designer HERMES. Thank You! LOVE, gaga.'
Its worth noting that Hermes simply does not make faux fur coats. Their fur designs are impossibly expensive and have also been worn by Kanye West. Here is the fur coat Gaga was seen wearing, when it was modeled on Hermes' Fall ready-to-wear Paris runway.
In respose to her fur choices, Dan Matthews of PETA wrote her a personal letter on the animal rights organization's website, reminding her of her no-fur stand.

"Many of your gay fans, I among them, have long admired what you told Ellen [Degeneres on The Ellen Degeneres Show]: 'I hate fur, and I don't wear fur,'" wrote the senior VP of PETA on the animal activist organization's website. "What happened? Are your stylists telling you that it's fake, or are you a turncoat?"
He added: "Many gays are animal advocates because we recognize that the same arrogance and indifference that some have toward animal suffering has at times been directed toward us personally because of our orientation.
"By wearing those dumb furs in a heat wave, you're making yourself a target just like the mindless Kim Kardashian. As we plan our fall campaigns, please tell us whether what you gracefully told Ellen was heartfelt or just a pose."
Fans have also chimed in over her Hermes fur, posting their displeasurewith their Mother Monster on her Twitter page.
"If this is the new era Gaga, I don't like it," wrote one Little Monster. Another asked, "How could you? That's so messed up. I thought you stood up for better values than fashion at the cost of animal suffering."
Added another disappointed fan: "Fame is a real monster that changes people :( "
A lengthy scold came from a fan with the Twitter handle Fifty Shades of Gay:"I love you Lady Gaga but if you're wearing real fur, you're gonna lose me as a fan. You said on the Ellen Degeneres Show... to millions of people, that you didn't wear fur and now it seems you're going back on those words. Animals are often skinned alive in order for people like you to wear fur, hearts are found beating for up to ten minutes after they have been skinned. Is that the kind of industry you want to support?"
So far, no further response from Gaga, who is the cover girl on Vogue's September issue, which has broken all the magazine's past records. No, not for sales. By weight. The issue features 840 pages and weighs nearly 5 pounds.
