Lady GaGa's new album 'ARTPOP': How should it sound?

For those who might have missed it, Lady GaGa announced the title of her new album in typically confusing fashion on Sunday (August 5) as ARTPOP.

Given she has also suggested the record won't be out until next year, the unveiling of its title feels a little premature, especially since it took us a fair while to completely get our heads around last year's Born This Way.

While we all eagerly await further details, we've listed things we would and wouldn't like from the record.

THE TITLEWe'll admit we're not exactly crazy about the title yet, but she's already got one thing right by insisting on everyone capitalising it. ARTPOP looks infinitely better than Artpop, we're sure you'll agree.

THE ARTWORKThe worst thing she could do with the album art is something Warhol inspired (or indeed Born This Way inspired). GaGa looks best in either ridiculous and over the top "avant-garde" shots or the complete opposite - when she isn't trying too hard. A quick Google at some fanmade art threw up these not-too-shabby efforts (we're aware they're old images but you get the idea).

THE TRACKLISTIf we were to list GaGa's albums in order of preference, The Fame Monster would easily come out on top; mainly because it trimmed the fat and left us with a brilliant eight-track album. If the material is up to it, a neat 40-minute ten track-max record w! ould sui t us just fine.

THE MUSICIt'd be near-impossible to stop GaGa conjuring up a complicated but vaguely interesting concept to run alongside the LP, so we'll allow her that. Producer-wise, less Fernando Garibay (unless he's got another 'Dance in the Dark' tucked up his sleeve), more RedOne. A big collaboration that isn't with Elton John wouldn't go amiss either.

THE VIDEOSWe're in 'the longer the better' camp on this one, though if each single is going to be accompanied by a ten-minute mini-movie, we'd suggest timing it better with each release this time out. Nobody wants another 'Edge Of Glory' disaster again.

Here's to the next seven (or so) months of wondering, conjecturing and speculating!
