Lady Gaga's 'ARTPOP' Might Be the Next 'Chinese Democracy'
Lady Gaga heads to the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles ahead of her concert. (Pacific Coast News)more pics Lady Gaga understands if her Little Monsters are pissed at her for taking such a long time to release her long-awaited album ARTPOP especially given how much she's talked it up over the past several months. Last month, she admitted that she wasn't too pleased with the wait, either: "I feel so bad. I know you all wanna kill me," she told fans in an online discussion. "But nobody writes my songs for me! Every single song you've ever heard by me, I created from nothing with friends. So it takes some time."
It looks like it's going to take a even more time than Gaga fans had anticipated, judging by her collaborator Zedd's recent comments to MTV News. The EDM artist called the songs he's been working on with Gaga "rough," explaining, "The problem with her is obviously that I'm busy and I tour a lot, but she's probably a lot busier than I am, so it's hard to find time to work on something together ... So we've been ! working on it for over a year now. There's still a lot of work left, so we're definitely gonna work on this project for the next month."
Hopefully ARTPOP comes together in fewer than 14 years the amount of time it took Axl Rose to put his stamp of approval on Guns 'N Roses' Chinese Democracy. In the meantime, here's the latest word on Gaga's next chapter.
1. Asked on Twitter to describe the new album in three words, Gaga joked, "Disney princess high."
2. Gaga's collaborator Zedd isn't afraid of hurting her feelings: "I can say, That was not good. You can do better."
3. Gaga's written over 50 songs for the album, meaning that she'll have to spend a fair amount of time just picking out which songs will make the cut.
4. Lindsay Lohan will probably star in one of the music videos.
And... that's it. Hurry up, Gaga! We miss you on the airwaves!
