Lady Gagas bad toemance

LADY GAGA wont settle for a signed T-shirt from her idol not when she can buy her toenail clippings.

The star is spending some of her vast fortune on items belonging to French singer Edith Piaf her musical inspiration.

Shes eyeing up clothes, shoes, perfume bottles, private letters and, most baffling of all, shes even inquired about purchasing the stars toenail clippings.

That will look nice in a frame on her bathroom wall.

Gaga is huge fan of Edith, whose hits included classic track Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien, and wants to mark the 50th anniversary of her death next year.

Tragic and talented ... Parisian songbird

Her reps have also been in negotiations with representatives of the Piaf estate about buying rights to her first filmed performance and in talks with EMI to use nine of her songs.

They are likely to be sampled on a track to feature on Gagas next album, while the 1941 film footage could be broadcast on stage during her next big tour.

A source said: Gaga sees a lot of herself in Edith. She, too, was a rebellious character in her era.

Theres an awful lot of red tape to get through its a complicated process. But shes hoping the Piaf estate want to ensure, with her help, that the music can be introduced to a new audience.

Considering the size of Gagas global following, Ediths music will gain a huge new fanbase.

Gagas fascination with the French icon has also been in evidence at recent events she has attended.

The singer has insisted on playing Ediths music as her entrance theme at parties.

Aptly, her latest request was for a bash held in Ediths home town during Paris Fashion Week.

You know that youve truly made it when you can demand your own entrance theme.
