Lady Gaga lampooned in Die Antwoord video, retaliates by starting Twitter feud

Lady Gaga and South African crime-stoppers Die Antwoordhave startedfeuding back and forth on Twitter, leading to some of the strangest insults weve seen this side of fairground stripper. It all started when Gaga asked Die Antwoord to open for her on her tour, an offer they declined. Then, the South African group premiered their wild Fatty Boom Boom videolast Tuesday. The clip, like most of the groups work, is outr (at least for American sensibilities), featuringcolorfulcrotch-grabbing, naughty hyenas, prawn-birthing, and some demented LaChappellian krumpiness.

All thats classic Die Antwoord, but what really got Gagas goat was seeing an impersonator aping Mother Monster herself. The actor, easily identifiable as a Lady Gaga stand-in, is featured running afool in a number of unflattering scenes, including one in which she gives birth to a prawn. Because, you know, shes a prawn star.

So, Gaga fought back the way she knows best: Twitter. i fink u freaky but you dont have a hit. hundred thousand tIckets sold in SA.#thatmyshit, she tweeted.

She followed that up with a second tweet: i guess its not a good idea to tell someone youre a fan. never mind! we get it, youre not a little monster. WE GOT IT.

Naturally, Die Antwoord defended themselves, writing: lady even tho u r larger than us we still cooler than u plus we dont have prawns in our private parts. They also posted an image of Gagas tweet on their Facebook page, prompting a swell of support from tens of thousands of fans.
