Lady Gaga offered 'Zoolander 2' role
Script still not finalized yet
It's been over a decade since the release of the original Zoolander that paired Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as models duking it out in the world of male modeling. Since its release, fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel, which always seems to be coming in the near future. Now, it appears that Lady Gaga has been offered a role in the sequel.
According to The Sun, Gaga was offered 3million, or about $4.8 million, to appear in Zoolander 2.
"Gaga is top of their wish-list," a source told The Sun. "She has the talent and attitude and an amazing sense of humor."
Additionally, real-life models Kate Moss, Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima have been targeted to appear in the sequel.
While this may excite fans, a Zoolander sequel has been talked about since May. According to the Huffington Post, Wilson talked about Gaga being in the film back in 2010.
"She has to be [in it]" he said when talking to MTV. "Maybe she makes a good foil for Hansel."
While the script still has to be finished, Jennifer Aniston's fiancee, Justin Theroux will direct the sequel. Theroux helped Stiller write the first installment of Zoolander.
"There are things set up at the end of the first movie that were able to build on, like Derek and Matilda have a son, and Mugatu went to jail." Stiller said back in May. "Theres a lot there, Im excited about the idea of doing it. It feels like its getting close to going.
While there are no reports of the movie being ! released anytime in the future, The Sun says filming is not slated to begin until next year.
