Lady Gaga Leaks Photo of Julian Assange Visit

Lady Gaga and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, two of the world's most controversial public figures, met up in London on Monday to talk about who-knows-what.

Gaga was in London to promote her debut fragrance Fame, which just launched at upscale department store Harrod's. After the event, Gaga took the night (reportedly five hours) to sit with Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy, where he has lived since June awaiting either asylum or extradition to Sweden on rape and sexual assault allegations.

The pop star arrived at the embassy around 7:00 p.m. and left after midnight.

While many would try to keep their association with someone like Assange quiet, the singer went another route. In typical fashion, Gaga let her legions of followers in on the news before anyone else by posting a photo of the two on her fan-centric website LittleMonsters.com.

Wearing a sequined top and a black witch hat - quite the contrast to the WikiLeaks founders' plain white t-shirt - Gaga appears quieted by her companion. While the photo has no caption, the image itself speaks louder than words (but perhaps not as loud as the comments posted below it). Fans fought back and forth, with some standing behind the artist's association with the hacker and others denouncing her for standing by someone wanted by the law.

The Australian activist has been granted asylum in Ecuador, where he is hoping to evade charges for rape and assault that are awaiting him in Sweden.
