Northcote goes Gaga for US Independence Day

Lady Gaga celebrated America's Independence Day with a party at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne last night after ending the Victorian leg of her Born This Way Ball tour.

The club confirmed Lady Gaga held a private function at the High Street venue, but refused to elaborate.

"Everyone had a good time and everyone was lovely to deal with," a spokeswoman said. "It was a great night."

Pictures posted on Twitter show Lady Gaga dressed in a tiger-print dress with the same flair that made her famous - but a lot less flourish than some of her more spectacular onstage outfits.

One person tweeted that the pop star partied with 150 of her entourage and had sumo wrestlers and a barbecue to celebrate.

Entertainment at the party included famed DJ Kitty Glitter and Lady Gaga's house band, according to take40.com.

On Tuesd! ay Gaga tweeted, "5 sold out shows in seven days. I think I'm officially Australian. One more show until PERTH! And tomorrow is our HAUS 4TH OF JUL".

Gaga is expected to perform at Perth's Burswood Dome this weekend before heading overseas.
