A third Auckland concert for Lady Gaga has been announced after tickets for an extra concert sold out.

Organisers say the third concert in June by the extravagant American singer at Vector Arena will be the final concert.

Fans can buy pre-sale tickets from Monday, while tickets for the general public will go on sale next Friday.

Additional dates have also been added to the Australian arm of the Born This Way Ball tour due to Lady Gaga's popularity.

Lady Gaga last performed in Auckland in March 2010, playing two sold out shows.

The latest concerts are part of her Born This Way Ball tour, and the singer says that she and her design team have spent "months'" working on the "spectacular stage" for the show.

Her nearly 19 million Twitter followers have been leaked information about the tour, including the poster for the show and a sketch of her gothic castle-themed stage design.

Gaga describes the sound of the new tour as an "electro-pop opera; the tale of the Beginning, the genesis of the Kingdom of Fame. How we were birthed and how we will die celebr8ting".

Born This Way is the second album for Gaga and topped charts worldwide on its release in May last year, selling nearly six million copies. Singles from the album include Born This Way, Judas and the Edge of Glory.

Audiences can expect songs from her latest album, Born This Way, as well as older songs from her previous releases The Fame and The Fame Monster.

The two sold out shows are on June 7 and 8, with the new show announced to be held on June 10.
