Lady Gaga Responds To Most Pretentious Album Win

Well, you can't please 'em all

This is definitely one titular win Little Monster will not be happy about. But according to NME magazines list of the 10 Most Pretentious Albums Ever, it seems that Lady Gagas latest studio album, Born This Way, is worthy of nabbing the top spot.

Wondering why? Well, as Priya Elan, the NME writer who wrote the article, claims: On Born This Way, [Gaga] seemed to believe in her own hype, convinced she had a message to share. Cue an album of unwieldy 'anthems' that couldn't mask the fact that the fun had left the building.

Ouch! Priya even went on to single out the song Scheie as the albums most pretentious moment of all. Did electroclash die for this? she added.

Gaga, on the other hand, while unhappy about her so-called win, isnt taking it too seriously. Oh the irony of winning 'Most Pretentious Album Ever' from none other than NME. *Eye roll,* she tweeted. I might laugh forever [and] then return to narcissism.

Irony, indeed, is the right word here when NME had earlier rated Born This Way an 8/10. Along with Gaga, artistes such as Metallica, KISS and The Smashing Pumpkins also made it into the top 10.
