Pop star Lady Gaga has been working hard recently to make sure that her name is only used for her official products. While she is currently suing a cosmetics company for trying to use her name without her permission, today, she won a lawsuit in the UK against the creators of a Lady Goo Goo character for a social network.

According to The Guardian, Lady Goo Goo was a character created for the Moshi Monsters childrens social network. Moshi Monsters, which is owned by Mind Candy, had plans to release their characters song, Pappy-razzi as a single after it had become a YouTube hit over the summer. That was when Lady Gaga stepped in, hoping to stop the songs release. Not only will the song not be issued as a single, but the video has been taken off of YouTube.

E! News reports that the ruling came in London High Court, which sided with Lady Gagas complaint that it caused consumer confusion.

Mind Candys CEO, Michael Acton Smith told The BBC that the ruling creates a dangerous precedent. I think this could be a worrying precedent for other parody acts and tribute bands, he said.

Smith added that they might have to find a way to kill off the Goo Goo character, even though the judge said that it could still be used, just without the song.

Mind Candy also claimed that children would obviously be able to tell the difference between Goo Goo and Gaga, but obviously, Lady Gaga did not agree.
