Lady Gaga drops thousands of dollars on dinner
Lady Gaga dropped $13,000 for a dinner Thursday night, but don't worry it's not a Hollywood diva antic at all.
Yahoo! reported the superstar was at the "Right to Rock" charity auction, where she outbid everyone else for a dinner with Steve Van Zandt of the E-Street Band and Maureen Van Zandt, and a bottle of wine signed by James Gandolfini.
Her $13,000 bid will go to support the Little Kids Rock foundation, which raises money to create and support music programs at underprivileged schools.
Forbes reported Gaga decided to have her dinner at Parma, where she worked as a waitress at age 19 and served Van Zandt himself.
I used to stand on the corner and go, Daddy! Steve was here he wants gnocchi! she said.
The pop star was also awarded the Big Man of the Year at the event. The award, named after Clarence The Big Man Clemons, is given to a musical luminary who is passionate about helping Little Kids Rock to provide music education to school children who may not otherwise have access to music, and who also inspires and motivates kids.
Clemons passed away in June and was featured playing the saxophone in Gaga's The Edge Of Glory.
My first experience with music was my father playing vinyl of the E-Street Band, Gaga said. Clarence and the sound of his saxophone that was the sound of my youth."
