Lady Gaga's tour cancellation, including Detroit show, leads to $25 million loss
DETROIT, MI - Lady Gaga's cancellation this week of her remaining "Born This Way Ball" tour stops, including one in Metro Detroit, are reportedly going to cost the tour millions.
Billboard reported this week a rundown of the economic losses, and they don't look pretty. Try show cancellations that result in ticket refunds worth $25 million.
Billboard also mentioned that 200,000 tickets were sold for Gaga's remaining 22 shows.
The Metro Detroit show was supposed to be Saturday at The Palace of Auburn Hills before the tour originally postponed the date and appeared to reschedule it before the final decision to cancel the entire tour.
If you had tickets for The Palace show, refunds are available at the point of purchase. Call 248-377-0100 for more information or visit palacenet.com.
Gaga cancelled her tour because of a hip injury that her tour said in a statement requires surgery.
The news came a few days after Gaga postponed upcoming show because of what the tour said was a condition called synovitis (severe inflammation of the joints).
News of Gaga's tour cancellation generated a variety of emotions from her Metro Detroit fans.
Most fans, however, wished her the best and a speedy recovery.
