Lady GaGa: 'Jennifer O'Neill lawsuit is painful'
The singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, is being sued by former assistant Jennifer O'Neill. O'Neill alleges GaGa failed to pay her for overtime worked between 2009 and 2011 and is seeking $393,000 (248,000) in damages.
Today (February 2), GaGa took to Twitter to comment on news reports about the case.
She told followers: "Everyone's headlines need an updating. "former assistant" is actually "my best friend from NY since I was 19." Painful stuff (sic)."
In a video-taped deposition for the case GaGa referred to O'Neill as a "f**king hood rat who is suing me for money that she didn't earn".
The pair initially fell out over a disagreement regarding sleeping space on a private jet.
