Principal dresses like Lady Gaga, milks cow for bet

As part of a bet with his students, an elementary school principal dressed up as Lady Gaga and milked a cow.

Justin Vernon, principal of Roger Clap Innovation School in Dorchester, Mass., challenged his 170 5th grade students to read a combined 10,000 books by the end of the school year. The students, however, wanted something in return.

"They pushed back on me, saying 'If we're going to have to read all these books to meet our goal, you've got to do something for us," Vernon said. "Somehow I got stuck with dressing up as Lady Gaga and milking a cow."

According to Good Morning America, the students surpassed their goal by 3,000 averaging 75 books per student. Books read for class and out loud by parents counted toward the challenge.

According to NBC, Vernon wore a platinum blonde wig, heels, black tights and a dress when he made good on his end of the deal Wednesday. His students and their parents watched and cheered him on.
