Lady Gaga Reveals the Truth About her New Fragrance 'Fame'
Earlier this week we reported on the flurry of rumours about Lady Gagas long-awaited fragrance which is said to be launching in September this year. Firstly, we heard that the scent is to be called Fame and will not smell like blood and semen as originally reported, but but rather like an expensive hooker instead. Oh goodie!
What we didnt know at the time, was that these snippits of information had actually come from a US magazine editor who had leaked a photo of the outer bottle and its packaging along with its name via twitter. Naughty!
Understandably, the star was less than amused by the premature reveal, tweeting on Wednesday Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked. Oh you fashion editors, I could just crinkle my hands at you! Argh! Can you just imagine the horror of receiving a public bol****ing from The Gaga herself? Oh the shame! Feeling forced to reveal the details of the upcoming scent much earlier than planned, her tweet also included a photo of the fragrance, which holds a black (yes really), eau de parfum in a clear bottle, topped with a chunky Art Deco-looking gold cap. While we arent entirely sure what her definition of crinkle entails we're pretty sure that receiving a "crinkle" by Lady Gaga is no cool thing.
Then on thursday Gaga took to her Website to make the finer details of her first fragrance officially known. Well kind of
The fragrance is set to be the very first black eau de! parfum, once airborne transforming into a clear liquid and promising to deliver a true metamorphosis...when worn on skin, as well. You may be less than surprised to hear that there is none of that typical top, middle and base note stuff with this one; instead it relies upon on push-pull technology, whereby the ingredients interact harmoniously together and are free from any hierarchy. The fragrance has three main accords; dark, sensual light (inspired by belladonna, the deadly nightshade); opulence (a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar), and whispers magnificence (a floral layer of crushed tiger orchid and jasmine sambac). Lady Gaga also revealed that the scent has been produced as a collaboration between Gagas own Haus Laboratories and Coty Inc, while the bottle was designed in collaboration with Nick Knight.
We love how terribly Lady Gaga this fragrance production has been - Even the press release contained Gagas personal touch. She wrote, Enjoy the first-ever fragrance from Haus Laboratories. Fame, a beautiful prospect with a dark heart. X Gaga.
The launch will coincide with Gagas second Vogue cover, which according to sources has already been shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Do you think you'll be giving this one a spritz?
