Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga Responds To Madonna Comparison At New Zealand Show

Since it came out, Lady Gaga 's signature 'Born This Way' has constantly been criticized for its close resemblance to the Madonna track 'Express Yourself' from her much-praised Like A Prayer album. Last month Madge reignited the debate when she began her MDNA world tour in Tel Aviv, by performing a mash-up of her song with Lady Gaga's Born This Way. It's always been clear that Gaga has been heavily influenced by the 'Give Me All Your Loving' singer, but this latest stunt has seen many taking Madonna's performance of the Gaga track as a lampooning rather than appraisal.

As tensions between the two singers seems to be on the boil, Gaga took a break mid-way through her set in a bid to cool tensions and explain that she never intended to plagiarise the Madonna song.

Speaking in regards to the criticism that she received since the two songs were compared, she said "I learned so much this year about that, I learned a lot about negativity, I've learned a lot about people trying to tear you down. I'm just not that person and I never will be. I don't want to fight back, it's more important to me to keep writing music, 'cause that all I really care about."

Fans responded with a rapturous applause with many since coming to the 'Born This Way' singer's defence on the web.
