It is rather well-known that singer Akon, when he signed Lady Gaga to his label in 2008, contributed in part to the Born This Way singer breaking into the industry. However, Donald Trump is claiming that he was the one to have given Gaga her big break.
Apparently the Donald says that because he selected Gaga as the headlining act of his popular Miss Universe Pageant in 2008, and during the show the singer performed her breakout song Just Dance for the very first time on TV, it led to Gaga shooting to fame.

In relating his story, the Donald said in a published report, that he had no clue who Gaga was and only put her on because one of his people instead she was good. Plus he didnt have to pay her for her half-time entertainment during the Miss Universe Pageant. Whatever his claims were just grateful he hasnt sunk so low as to invoice Gaga for the opportunity he gave her.
