Lady Gaga Snubs $1 Million Offer To Perform At Republican Conference
Will Alexander/WENN.comLady Gaga is one of the several artists who turned down $1 million to perform at a Republican conference in the US last year, a lawsuit has revealed.
The 'Born This Way' singer was reportedly offered the generous fee to sing a selection of her hits at the event held in August 2012 to support then-Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on his election campaign.

However, being Barack Obama supporter, Gaga is said to have turned down the sum, despite organisers offering to donate a large amount of the proposed fee to a domestic violence charity.
The 27-year-old wasn't the only one to decline the money, with rapper Pitbull and Dolly Parton also turning down lucrative offers, according to court documents filed by the Republican fundraisers, American Action Network, against the entertainment organisers over the event.
After Gaga and co.'s refusal, American Idol winner Taylor Hicks and 3 Doors Down were chosen as the entertainment. Speaking after his performance at the event, Taylor said: I don't really talk about my party or political affiliations. Im an entertainer; thats what I was inv! ited to do.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is currently taking time off from performing to recover from hip surgery. The 27-year-old was forced to cancel the remaining US dates of her 'Born This Way Ball' tour shortly before undergoing the surgery.
