Lady Gaga Is Runner-Up in TIME's 'Most Influential' 10th Anniversary Poll

Lady Gaga narrowly missed out on being named the most influential person of the past decade by the online readers of TIME magazine, who cast their bids in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the TIME 100.

Gaga emerged victorious in the Entertainment category, having nabbed easy wins against George Clooney and J.K. Rowling. She then managed to edge out Politics frontrunner Barack Obama, but was ultimately no match for the leading Icon: Aung San Suu Kyi, a Burmese politician and formerly one of the world's most famous political prisoners (she was released from house arrest after 15 years in 2010).

So the world has a conscience after all! Oh no wait. No it doesn't:
