Fans exploded in cheers at last Saturdays game on Nov. 17, but not just due to the Penn State football teams win.
During the game, the announcers revealed that five-time Grammy Award winner Lady Gaga will perform on Saturday, March 2 at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Gaga, known for songs such as Bad Romance and Born This Way, will stop by Happy Valley as a part of her North American The Born This Way Ball world tour after selling out in previous shows.
Many students were pumped that the performance date was revealed while at Beaver Stadium.
Stephanie Sarnese said she was excited to hear that Lady Gaga is coming to Penn State and that she is hoping to attend the concert.
Sarnese (junior-forensic science) said she thought that announcing the concert at the football game was a neat idea.
[I thought it was] a really cool way to get the word out, Sarnese said.
Though excited, some students are worried about ticket prices.
Sarnese said! she would pay up to $100 for tickets, but shes hoping theyre affordable.
Jessica Ricci said she thinks that tickets may be expensive because people will pay no matter what [ticket prices] are.
Paige Blawas also said she was really excited to hear about Gaga coming to Penn State.
Blawas (senior-pubic relations) said she has seen Lady Gaga before in Ohio and her concert was spectacular.
She said she thinks tickets will most likely be expensive, but the price of the show is well worth it.
Gaga is known for sporting bizarre outfits, from dresses made of meat, to sunglasses made of cigarettes, to hats made of soda cans. Some students who are attending the concert, like Blawas, are going to dress up and mimic Gagas outrageous costumes.
Half the fun [of going] is seeing people dress up, Blawas said. It makes the experience.
Ricci also said she is debating dressing up.
She said that though shed dress up, she would not wear something crazy like the meat dress. Ricci said she would probably wear something a bit simpler like a bow in her hair.
Gaga is set to perform songs from her albums Born This Way, as well as from older albums The Fame and The Fame Monster.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday Nov. 30. Tickets are available at the Bryce Jordan Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Downtown Theatre and Altoona Campus ticket outlet.
