The weather in the UK is never predictable, so you can't blame Lady Gaga for carrying a parasol with her.

In typically eccentric style the singer, 24, left her hotel in central London with the vintage held above her for protection - and perhaps a little attention too.

Though there was no sun in the capital yesterday, Gaga carried the item regardless and even wore a pair of sunglasses in keeping with her sunny outlook.

Her outfit was not up to the usual Gaga standards, consisting of an all-in-one orange trouser suit with black platforms just about visible under her trouser legs.

Ever the tactile young lady, the singer planted a kiss on the cheeks of each of the doorman at the hotel as she headed out on her merry way.

She matched the outfit with a pair of large V-shaped black earrings, and an accessory around her waist that was reminis! cent of a utility belt.

Her nails had been shaped into talons, and painted grey with gems along her cuticles.

The parasol itself was of most interest though, with its fantasy landscape design featuring palm trees and, most interestingly, mermaids - including the ornnate handle.

Incidentally, Gaga appears in pseudo-mermaid guise on the cover of the worlds largest magazine.

Art magazine Visionaires Larger Than Life issue is an astounding 5ft by 7ft, and features the singer on the back and cover.

Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the cover features Lady Gaga as an oily-looking mermaid with a gooey tail.

Gaga says of the image: 'There is no oil too thick as to destroy the imagination.'

The huge publication has a price tag to match its record breaking size, retailing for $1,500.

While the standard size (36in by 49.48in) will cost Gaga's Little Monsters a more reasonable $375.

Visionaire's Larger Than Life issue is apparently the largest ever, according to the publishers issue 61 has been certified by the Guinness World Records company as being the largest magazine ever produced.

The publication is designed to 'give iconic artists and image-makers the forum to take their visions to a massive scale.'

Other contributors include fellow photographers Steven Klein, Mario Sorrenti and Bruce Weber, British artist and Nowhere Boy Director Sam Taylor-Wood, and famed American Director Ridley Scott.

They, including many others, have all taken on the 'Larger Than Life' theme in their own signature style.

Gaga fans who have the sufficient funds can purchase the magazine at the Visionaire Gallery in New York City and at visionaireworld.com.

The singer was en route from London to Belfast where this year's MTV EMAs are taking place.

It's been reported that the Bad Romance singer will be performing on The UK X Factor next weekend on November 13 alongside homegrown band One Direction.
