Lady Gaga is racking up more critics than just Madonna with her new track "Princess Die." The always controversial singer premiered the song in Melbourne, Australia, causing outrage over the lyrics which appear to reference the Princess of Wales' death in 1997 car crash boyfriend, Dodi Fayed. Mother Monster sings on the track, "[I] wish that I would go/In my rich boyfriend's limo /right after he proposed/With a 16-carat stone wrapped in rose gold/with the papparazzi all swarming around/so bob head your head for another dead blonde," reports Web site Monsters and Critics . Going gaga outside of Lady Gaga

Ahh, the great Singapore Sale. Those eight golden weeks between May and July must spell insanity for credit card holders who happen to find themselves in the Lion City at that time. I found that out myself, as Inquirer Lifestyle, with media from Southeast Asia, was recently given a taste of the perks that MasterCard holders can enjoy during this crazy period. Coming from the Changi Airport terminal via a limousine airport transfer (a black Chrysler 300C, or mafia car, as my chauffeur for the day jokingly put it), I was billeted in a spacious suite at Fairmont Hotel. With impeccable room service and gourmet food available 24/7, the hotel is conveniently located along Bras Basah Road and just across the street from Raffles Mall and the sprawling CHIJMES hangout venue. Welcome package The welcome package included a black M1 Prepaid MasterCard, courtesy of our host. I was certainly no stranger to the temptations a credit card presented, much to my mothers consternation. She introduced me t

Lady Gaga sings 'Princess Die' song

Lady Gaga has been performing a song called Princess Die, which is believed to be about Princess Diana. The singer, who is currently in Australia with her Born This Way tour, debuted a song which she said "may or may not" be on her next album, Entertainmentwise reports. With lyrics such as "I wish I would go in my rich boyfriend's limo. Right after he proposed with a 16 carat stone wrapped in rose gold, with the paparazzi all swarming around, in my Louis Vuitton white button down", parallels have been drawn with Princess Diana. But, when introducing the song, Gaga took great pains to emphasise the spelling of the song's title. She said: "It's called Princess Die. D, I, E... D, I, E." The Sun reports that Gaga has previously spoken about her admiration for Diana, saying: "Diana was the most iconic martyr of fame. She died because of it."

Not all Thais are Gaga about America

Image
BANGKOK, Thailand Shes an unlikely national ambassador, but to understand the complexities of U.S. relations with the emerging economies of Southeast Asia, it can be revealing to ask what people think of Lady Gaga. Last month, the American superstar's world tour brought her through Thailand and other countries in the region, which has long held huge geopolitical significance for U.S. policymakers and is now the focus of intense diplomatic and economic rivalry as the U.S. faces a rising China determined to stake its place as a global superpower. While Thailand is a place that seems on the surface at least to have an anything-goes attitude ideally suited to the outrageous and controversial Gaga, appearances can be deceptive. Despite its notorious nightlife and sex shows, Thailand is very conservative in many ways, and the concept of "saving face" is important. Even if embarrassing issues are obvious, discussing them openly is frowned upon. 'Inappropriate' behavio

Lady Gaga Debuts New Song At Australian Concert

Lady Gaga debuted a new song during her " Born This Way Ball" concert last night in Melbourne, Australia that she says may appear on her new album. The track is a somber piano balled called "Princess Die." "So this song may or may not be on my next album. I wrote it a little while ago and I've never ever played it for anyone," Gaga told the screaming audience. "I'm going to play it because, actually, I've been really excited and impressed with how many super fans have been at every show. I truly feel it would be a disservice to all of you to not play it before I leave." The pop superstar's co-manager Vincent Herbert told the website That Grape Juice that the new album will be as boundary-pushing as ever and that it is being worked on concurrently with her current tour (as Born This Way was with her "Monster Ball" roadshow). Gaga has said she will announce the title of her new album in September. On Twitter, Gaga ad
