Excite Worldwide LLC, a Nevada-based company, is trying to trademark “Lady Gaga” and “Lady Gaga LG” to use on makeup, jewelry, and other accessories. What they didn’t expect was a full-blown lawsuit from the woman behind the famous name herself!
The lawsuit states that customers could be hoodwinked into thinking that Gaga is connected to the merchandise produced by Excite Worldwide LCC, reports The Washington Post.
E! News says that the company is trying to “capitalize on Gaga’s success” and their request to trademark her name will never be allowed without her permission. She has asked that all applications the company has put forth trying to trademark her name be pulled.
Lady Gaga is a very influential person – and this lawsuit has definitely proved that she’s not someone to mess with.
